MONTREAL, QUEBEC – Monday, 14 May 2018 – The Government of Quebec has attributed funding in the amount of $4.3M to the Consortium for Research and Innovation in Aerospace in Quebec (CRIAQ) in support of technology demonstrator projects that respond to the needs of Quebec SMEs within the Quebec aerospace sector. This funding is provided in accordance with the Quebec Aerospace Strategy, where $8.2M will be allocated over a period of 5 years in support of technology demonstrator projects.
At a recent press conference Dominique Anglade, Quebec Deputy Minister, Minister of the Economy, Science and Innovation responsible for Digital Strategy, announced the names of the four SME companies that have been awarded this important funding, namely AV&R, GlobVision, Mannarino Systems & Software and RTI-Claro. This investment of $4.3M added to previous investments made under this funding pool brings the total investments made by the Quebec Government to date to approximately $13M.

MANNARINO Systems & Software, Inc. (MANNARINO) will lead a team of industry professionals and university experts to develop a demonstrator of a RTCA/DO-178C Design Assurance Level A certifiable aerospace software product; the first product development initiative for the company.
MANNARINO will use its experience and expertise to develop a safety-critical software product that will fulfill the aerospace requirements for RTCA/DO-178C Design Assurance Level A software. NordiaSoft will contribute its experience and knowledge in the development and integration of tools required for software development. Concordia University and Polytechnique Montreal will study the use of Cybersecurity and Multi-core microprocessors in the aerospace industry. These are two topics that will be at the technical forefront of the aerospace sector in the near future.
During the demonstrator development, MANNARINO will work with a global aerospace leader to integrate the software product onto an airborne hardware platform currently being developed. The project has the primary objective that by the 2019-2020 timeframe, MANNARINO will have demonstrated its software technology to TRL-6 and integration onto the target hardware platform.
