  • SAE E-36 Committee (Electronic Engine Controls)

 

The SAE E-36 Electronic Engine Controls committee addresses all facets of electronic aircraft engine control systems and components—design, installation, maintenance, and in-service experience. These parts and systems include metering components and actuators and cockpit display, flight control, and diagnostic and health monitoring system communications and interfaces. The committee is dedicated to creating, preparing, and maintaining all relevant specifications, standards, and requirements for electronic engine control systems. Participants in the SAE E-36 committee include OEMs, suppliers, processors, consulting firms, government, and others across the aerospace and defense industries.

                                                                                                                                  

 

  • RTCA  Special Committee 205 Software Considerations (DO-178B Update)

SC-205, Software Considerations, is preparing an update to D0-178B, Software Considerations in Airborne Systems and Equipment Certification and DO-248B, Report for Clarification of DO-178B and DO-278 additional work will be determined.

 

The guidance of this joint special committee/working group is needed to leverage technology developed in the computer and communication industries for use in the aviation industry. The guidance will provide means to achieve approval of both airborne and CNS/ATM software.

 

OBJECTIVES:

  • To provide clear and consistent ties with the systems and safety processes.
