In October 2008, MSS began working with Rolls-Royce Canada.  This relationship has culminated into three work projects related to RRC industrial gas turbine controls.

  • Safety Software for the Trent 60
  • Provided critical functions for overspeed/heat detection,   vibration monitoring, alarm annunciation and shutdown command

    Performed to safety integrity level (SiL) 2 standard (IEC 61508)

    Project deliverables included specifications/test procedures in    DOORS, safety software,  test execution & test results

    Coded under Rockwell RSLogix controller environment

 

  • Trent 60 Engine Control Software (ECS) Updates
  • Updates for the next-generation RRC controller (Allen-Bradley)

    Updated requirements and test procedures in DOORS dbs

    Updated code within the Rockwell RSLogix controller environment

  • Development of a Code Conversion Tool for NRT Simulation
  • Developed a code conversion tool from PLC language to C++ code

    Tool developed in C and Visual Basic language

    Tool output is in C++ for running within Matlab simulink NRT simulation
