JOB DESCRIPTION

SUMMARY

Design, develop, verify, & validate aircraft and naval systems in accordance with customer requirements & regulatory guidelines. Able to work independently and in cooperation with multiple individuals and groups. Excellent communication skills will be necessary to perform system dynamic analysis, control law design, and system level verification.  Possibility of expanding technical responsibilities to other areas associated with embedded software engineering.

 

EDUCATION

University education from an accredited institute with a minimum bachelor’s degree in computer science or related engineering discipline.

 

EXPERIENCE 

5+ years developing and certifying aircraft and/or naval systems.

The candidate will be expected to design, develop, and maintain system in accordance with customer requirements and regulatory guidelines. He/she will apply the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the system development life cycle for products such as engine/airplane flight control and display systems, avionics, mechanical and electrical systems, commercial and military aircraft and naval systems.

 

Experience in the following areas is required:

  • Engine, aircraft, and/or vessel certification including working knowledge of:
    • CFR Title 14 Parts 23/25/27/29/33
    • CFR Title 46 Part 2
    • RTCA/DO-178B
    • RTCA/DO-254
    • ABS High Speed Naval Craft Guide
    • ABS Naval Vessel Rules
  • Aircraft flight management systems
  • Gas turbine engine control systems
  • C/C++, Ada and assembly programming

Experience with the following applications is a definite asset:

  • Motorola PowerPC Microcontrollers (including MPC555/745)
  • Agilent logic analyzers
  • ARINC-429, RS-422, & CAN serial data links
  • GreenHills Integrated Development Environment & AdaMulti 2000
  • MATLAB / Simulink, SCADE, BEACON, DOORS©
  • Microsoft OFFICE

TRAVEL

Occasional travel required to customer sites (usually within North America).

 

OTHER

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Overtime will be requested during peak periods
  • Fluency in English and French (spoken & written) is an asset
