Control Systems Engineer

Career Opportunity and Primary Roles / Responsibilities

As a member of our team, the primary responsibility of the control systems engineer is in the definition of systems, hardware and software solutions for industrial gas turbine controls. Some of the activities related to the position include:

  • Assessment of needs and definition of concepts
  • Understanding hardware design and specifications
  • Implementation and verification of codes
  • Modeling and simulation
  • Engine testing and internal technical support
  • Management of the integrated team of the project, if necessary

Required Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, aerospace or closely related
  • Preferably, three years of experience in control systems engineering
  • Member of the Quebec Order of Engineers (OIQ), or eligible to become one
  • Very good knowledge of English, written and spoken
  • Good knowledge of French, written and spoken

Other Competency Assets :

 

  • Experience related to control system hardware and/or software development
  • Knowledge of systems engineering tools and techniques, such as verification and validation techniques as well as QFD tool, an asset
  • Ability in structuring and solving complex problems
  • Knowledge of gas turbine engine controls and the same interest in gas turbine technology, an asset
  • Practical knowledge of methods and modeling tools for systems, such as MATLAB and Simulink, an asset
  • Practical knowledge of scripting tools, such as Visual Basic and Python, considered an asset
  • Practical knowledge of C ++
  • Practical knowledge of the agile approach and work within SCRUM teams, an asset
  • Experience in technical project management and risk management an asset
