VERIFICATION OF ROTORCRAFT’S ELECTRICAL POWER SYSTEM UNIT (EPSU)

Systems:

  • DO-254 DAL C/D AEH for Electrical Power System Unit (EPSU)

Scope:

  • Review and advise on Verification Plan and Checklists
  • Provide observations/comments on hardware requirements and their verification coverage
    Perform FPGA formal code reviews
  • Develop test procedures with traceability to requirements for: FPGA Target Tests ; FPGA Simulation Tests Includes both functional and back-annotated tests; Generator Control Unit (GCU) CCA Tests; Battery Power Control (BPC) CCA Tests.
  • Interconnect Board CCA Tests
  • Perform test procedures impact analysis due to requirement changes
  • Run formal test and write test report for FPGA simulation test procedures
  • Support SOI 2 & 3 audits with end customer/authorities
  • Design/Verification environment at MANNARINO: Libero IDE from Microsemi; ModelSim from Mentor Graphics

ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT DESIGN ASSURANCE (EEDA) SUPPORT IN THE PART 25 PLATFORM PROGRAM - INTEGRATION PHASE

  • Conduct desk audits

TCCA DAR DO-178B & DO-254 SERVICES FOR BUSINESS JET PLATFORM

Systems:

  • Dual Frequency Converter Unit (DFCU)
  • Water & Waste System.

Scope:

  • Support the customer’s DAO (Structures) to obtain STC
  • DAR for recommending approval according to DO-178B/254 DAL B
  • Review all DO-178B/254 life cycle data
  • Perform SOI1 to SOI4 audits on Astronics and its sub-tier supplier
  • Release review records and audit reports
  • Liaison with TCCA Regional Office in Quebec
  • Recommend finding of compliance to TCCA
  • Validation for FAA (USA) and EASA (Europe)

AIRWORTHINESS SUPPORT ACTIVITIES FOR CANADIAN MILITARY ROTORCRAFT PROGRAM

Systems:

  • Integrated Mission System (IMS).

Scope:

  • Act as internal airworthiness Software Quality Assurance (SQA)
  • Review Life Cycle Data (LCD) (mainly for SQA purposes, but sometimes for engineering as well)
  • Assess LCD completeness, identify gaps and provide corrective options
  • Support SOI audit preparation
  • Training of GDC personnel (ex. SAS template/seminar)

INITIAL SAFETY ASSESSMENT OF AN UNMANNED AIR VEHICLE SYSTEMS

Systems:

  • Ground Control Station (GCS).

Scope:

  • Preliminary Systems Safety Assessment (PSSA)
  • System Safety Assessment per ARP 4754 & ARP 4761
  • Functional Hazard Assessment (FHA)
  • Identify anticipated certification basis
  • Identify design assurance levels for ground-based software

DELEGATION FROM DND TO SUPPORT DO-178/254 DAL C CERTIFIABLE AIRWORTHINESS NETWORK INTERFACE CARD DEVELOPMENT

Systems:

  • DAL C Certifiable Airworthy Network Interface Card (CANIC)

Scope:

  • DO-178B/254 delegation from DND (through DTAES-5). Note: Directorate of Technical Airworthiness & Engineering Support 5 (DTAES-5) is the DND certification authority.
  • Review all DO-178B/254 lifecycle data
  • Provide guidance to Edgewater
  • Confirm applicant is ready for SOI audits prior to DND audits
  • Support Edgewater with all certification communication including SOI audits
  • Work with DND towards formal delegation status for MANNARINO
